Joann Ordoñez is a professional dancer and dance instructor based in Heidelberg, Germany. She specializes in oriental dance and salsa, among other dance styles.

Joann is the founder of TanzLab, a dance studio where she offers classes in various dance forms, including belly dance and salsa lady style.

With over 13 years of experience, Joann has received several accolades in the field of dance. Some of her notable achievements include winning first place in the Oriental Professional category at the „Oriental Kiss“ Festival in Paris (2024), the „Total Oriental“ Festival in Germany (2023 and 2024), and earning two podium finishes at „Cairo by Night 2023.“

She was also chosen as a finalist at the Cleopatra Festival among 30 strong international dancers. Additionally, she was recognized with the Revelation Award from the World Confederation of Dance Professionals (CIAD) in 2014. 

In the last 10 months, Joann decided to start competing intensively after a long pause, participating in 19 international festivals around Europe and achieving podium finishes 17 times. She continues to compete and will attend several international festivals/competitions in Cairo next season.

Joann’s educational background is extensive, including formal training at the Conservatory José María Rodriguez, the Escuela de Danzas Árabes Sussy Shabannah in Ecuador, SAIDA Dance School, and the Arabian Dance School in Buenos Aires.

She has also attended numerous workshops worldwide, enhancing her skills across various dance genres. Additionally, she holds a diploma as a Dance Pedagogue awarded in Nürnberg, Germany. Through her work at TanzLab, Joann aims to help her students discover their own potential and improve their self-esteem through dance.
